As much as I wish I could say I always look well dressed, polished, and like I have my shit together – I can’t (insert sad tear emoji here). With Luna in preschool now, I have finally been bestowed with the sacred parental ritual known as the morning rush. Most days, I consider myself lucky if I put on a clean top and jeans and grab a big pair of sunglasses to hide my lack of makeup (these one do the trick). The one thing that I’ve added to my wardrobe that has made me 100x better about my outfits lately is a long jacket.
I have a few that feel more summery, like this lightweight trench from Splendid and a favorite dusty pink one from Anthropologie. But when I was shopping the other day I tried this striped one on in the store and knew it would be a hero in my Fall wardrobe rotation. The bold stripes and retro colors are so pretty in person. Even though the material is a little thick, it’s unlined to it doesn’t feel hot or heavy.
It’s the easiest thing to throw on over an outfit to instantly look more put together. The longer length feels more elevated, but the relaxed fit keeps it informal. I’ve worn it over a graphic tee and jeans and with a short black dress and boots for a date night at one of our favorite spots.
It’s also worth mentioning that these gold heels are another new favorite of mine. I fall more and more in love with this brand every time they come out with something new. The heel shape on this pair is so fun!
I’m looking forward to adding more pieces to my Fall wardrobe that are easy to wear, but make an outfit feel just a little more special. Some things I have my eye on are wide leg pants, statement bags, and day to night boots.
