So we are now officially living on the east coast. After a couple of hectic months we are starting to get settled in. Our stuff is no longer stacked 10″ high in a storage locker, and we have a doormat in front of our door. It’s crazy to think that in less than five years, we lived in Southern California, Chicago, Dallas, and now Maryland.
We are approaching decorating the house with a slow-and-steady mentality. We are really taking note of how we are using the space and what kind of furniture we need and how (and for some pieces, if) our old furniture works in the new space. We are both really careful when it comes to making big purchases so we aren’t too antsy to fill our space with so-so stuff just for the sake of having a completely “done” house. Although, I’ve been a little antsy to get some stuff because I am getting a little tired of seeing random stuff that doesn’t really have a home all over our
house kitchen (why is it that everything always ends up in the kitchen?). Also, we only have two dining room chairs, so there’s that.
In the meantime, we’ve been making ample trips over to the farmer’s market, playing lots of disc golf, and grilling in the backyard. Yeah, I’d say we are definitely making this place a home (for now…more on that later).
